    Looks like it! The extended-benefit rules may allow unemployed people the comfort to wait for the “ideal” employment opportunities, thus prolonging their time off work and contributing to the soaring unemployment compensations.

    All of which would end, abruptly but to the benefit of greater society, if the unemployment benefits were to suddenly end. That’s not a crass and unfeeling statement. Somebody has to pay the benefits. Let’s factor the taxpayer into the analysis too.
