Study: Best hospitals are physician-run.

The hospitals’ argument for spending more money on hospitals: they employ people.

US spending on health care in 2009 per person: $8086. That’s more than $32,000 a year for a family of four.

    It does not surprise me that the study found that the best hospitals are physician-run.

    I can see how the best hospitals are physician run. The view that hospitals are major employers is an obstacle to closing inefficient, poorly run community hospitals.
